At Healcove, we’re proud to serve San Diego’s veterans with care that goes beyond quick fixes. As an approved provider in the VA Community Care Network (TriWest), we offer both chiropractic and acupuncture with no out-of-pocket costs for eligible veterans.

Depending on your VA referral, you can receive either chiropractic care or acupuncture care at Healcove. Each service is billed directly to TriWest, so you can focus fully on your health.

What Covered Services Are Available for Veterans?

Veteran Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care helps address pain, stiffness, and nervous system imbalances often linked with service-related injuries or the wear-and-tear of daily life.

If your VA provider refers you for acupuncture, Healcove is fully covered under TriWest. Many veterans turn to acupuncture for:

  • Stress and nervous system reset

  • Pain management (chronic or acute)

  • Better sleep and recovery

  • Support for headaches, digestion, and overall balance

How to Access Chiropractic or Acupuncture for Veterans at Healcove

Talk to Your VA Primary Care Provider (PCP):

 Request a referral to “Healcove Chiropractic and Wellness” for chiropractic care or acupuncture.

VA Approves and Coordinates Your Referral:

Once authorized, your referral is processed through the VA Community Care Network.

The VA Coordinator Schedules Your First Visit:

 They will book it with us directly. From there, we’ll make sure you’re fully supported and ready to begin care.

  • Yes. Chiropractic care is included in the VA’s Complementary and Integrative Health (CIH) services. If your VA provider refers you to Healcove, visits are fully covered through the VA Community Care Network (TriWest).

  • Yes. Acupuncture is also recognized as a CIH service and may be covered when clinically appropriate. With a VA referral, eligible veterans can receive acupuncture at Healcove with no out-of-pocket costs.

  • Talk to your VA provider and request chiropractic or acupuncture care at Healcove. Once your referral is submitted and approved, TriWest covers your visits in full. Our team can then schedule your appointments directly.

  • No problem. Simply ask your PCP for a referral to Healcove. We’ll take it from there once it’s approved.

  • Yes—once the referral is authorized, your visits at Healcove are fully covered by the VA. No co-pays or out-of-pocket costs apply.

  • Currently, only chiropractic and acupuncture are authorized. However, we can collaborate with your VA care team to explore what's possible for your needs.

  • At your first visit, your provider will review your health history, discuss your goals, and perform an initial evaluation. From there, they’ll recommend a treatment plan tailored to you.

  • Just bring a photo ID. If your authorization is active, we’ll already have your referral on file.

  • Visit/session length depends on your referral and care plan, but most chiropractic and acupuncture visits last between 30–60 minutes.
