Your First Visit, Thoughtfully Guided

Whether it’s your first time visiting us or you’re just getting started with a new service, here’s what to expect—so you can feel grounded, prepared, and supported from the start.

Before You Book

Curious but not sure what you need? You're not alone.

  • Yes, if you have a preferred provider, feel free to request them when booking. If you're not sure who to see, our team can help guide you based on your needs.

  • No referral is needed to begin care at Healcove. You’re welcome to book anytime. If your insurance or primary care doctor requires one for reimbursement, we’re happy to help with documentation.

  • Yes, for certain services. If you're exploring longer-term care or want to build momentum over time, packages may be available. We're happy to share details once we understand your goals.

  • Yes—most of our services are eligible for Health Savings or Flexible Spending Account use. We recommend confirming with your insurance provider or benefits portal in advance. If your plan requires a Letter of Medical Necessity, we’re happy to provide one. Just let us know during your visit or reach out to our front desk team.

  • We don’t require insurance to receive care at Healcove. Most clients choose our straightforward self-pay rates. If you’d like to explore using insurance for chiropractic care, you’re welcome to complete our Insurance Verification form.

For VA or personal injury cases, reach out to us directly. We’ll walk you through the next steps.

  • Yes—we provide care for all ages, though some services are more appropriate for certain age groups. Please reach out if you’re booking for a minor so we can guide you accordingly. A parent or guardian must attend the first visit.

After You Book

Here’s how to get ready so you can walk in with ease.

  • Yes—after booking, you’ll receive a link to complete your intake forms online. We ask that all paperwork be submitted prior to your visit so your practitioner can prepare for your session in a meaningful, informed way.

    • For acupuncture or chiropractic, wear loose, breathable clothing that allows easy access to your back, arms, or legs.

    • For movement-based sessions, athletic wear is best.

    • No special attire is needed for massage—but comfort is always key.

  • Yes. Arrive well-hydrated and have a light meal about an hour before. Receiving care on an empty stomach may lead to lightheadedness or discomfort.

  • Just yourself, comfortable clothing, and any questions you might have. If you have relevant medical notes or imaging, feel free to bring them—but they’re not required.

The Day of Your Visit

You made it. Here’s what to expect when you arrive.

  • We’re located at 5005 Texas Street, Suite 101, in the Mission Valley neighborhood of San Diego (92108). Free parking is available in the lot onsite. We recommend giving yourself a few extra minutes to arrive unrushed and settle in before your visit.

  • Most initial sessions are 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the service. This includes time to talk with your provider, assess your needs, and begin treatment or movement.

  • Each session is personalized. Your practitioner will check in with you, listen carefully, assess your needs, and begin treatment or movement. You’ll leave with clarity on what’s next.

  • Please call or text us if you’re running behind. We’ll do our best to accommodate you, but your session may be shortened to honor the next client’s appointment.

After Your First Visit

Your care doesn’t end when your session does.

  • Take a few deep breaths before and after your session. Reflect on how you feel. Your practitioner may offer guidance on next steps or frequency of care. You’re welcome to follow up with questions at any time.

  • Your practitioner may offer suggestions to help you integrate the work—this might include hydration, gentle movement, or simply slowing down. Every body responds differently. You’re encouraged to follow any after-care guidance offered, and you’re always welcome to reach out if questions arise between visits.

  • Care at Healcove is designed to support your goals over time, not just offer a one-time fix. Your practitioner will recommend a visit rhythm that’s aligned with your body’s needs—whether you’re in an active healing phase or maintaining progress.

Ongoing care is at the heart of how we work at Healcove. If a continued rhythm of care feels right for you, we offer packages to help you move forward—with intention and ease.
